I have a coughing spell once in a while and cough up a small amount of greenish phlegm with tiny granular objects in it. Under a magnifying glass they look kind of like tiny pieces of sand. I have had it checked but they checked only for viral or bacterial and it was neither. They didn't look at the granular objects in it. If I bite down on them I can feel them crushing between my teeth. My chest has a slight tickle in it and that is what causes me to cough. Happens more at night when I am lying down than when I am up. But it does happen when I am up. Has anyone heard of anything like this?
