Hi all :-)
My poor sister (26 yrs old) cannot catch a break it seems. She has severe endometriosis and went in this morning for surgury to scrape and came out with nothing done and some new concerns. The scar tissue made scraping impossible and the new concern is some kind of fluid in her lungs.
The surgury was supposed to have happened 2 weeks ago, but something was seen that made them postpone it until she could see a pulmonologist, who promptly gave her a clean bill of health. When they pulled my sisters breathing tube out this morning, apparently all kinds of gunk came up with it and the doctor nor anesthesiologist have a clue what it is. They did get a sample and will have it analyzed, but are telling us there is definatly something wrong with her lungs and the pulmo must have missed it because it's internal.
She did have double pneumonia a few months ago, but had gotten over it. She also appears to have a goiter developing, but thyroid functions are normal. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing all of this, and/or any ideas what the different possibilities are for the fluid they brought up today????
Thanks so much.
