: I woke up to difficulty breathing, and a frenzy of coughing. I went to emergency, and they admitted to the hospital for testing. They ruled out blood clots in the lungs and legs. The doctor could not see (what I suspected was pneumonia) in 2 chest x-rays. I am now home with powerful anti-botics - and I still can't take a full breath without coughing. what is wrong with me ? can anyone tell me ?
I would also suggest a visit to a pulmonary specialist. There could be many possible reasons for your symptoms. Hospital emergency rooms are not designed to give multiple tests to determine cause. They are designed to save lives, and if your promblem isnt life threatening, you wont even be admitted (no matter how bad you feel!) A dr IS designed to run various tests and do medical histories, and labs, etc. It is not normal to be unable to take a deep breath.
