Two web sites you should visit, both sites are good. http://www.unos.org This is the private/government agency that has authority over ALL ORGAN TRANSPLANTS.While 63 may sound young, it isn't for lung transplant. Most centers cut off at 55 +/-. All lung transplant centers are listed there with contact info. You can go to any transplant center in US if 1.) your ins. will pay and 2.) you fit their qualifiers. Has your mother discussed lung reduction with anyone? Also go th http://www.2ndwind.org This is a lung transplant orangization with good info too. Did you know that lung tx is considered an "optional surgery"? and not emergency.
