I am scheduled to have this pleurodesis surgery on Monday, 09/18/00. I, too, have had a series of episodes with my right lung collapsing. It has happened for a total of six times. My doctor seems to feel that removal of the blebs will be the most beneficial for me. After hearing of the "pain" associated with this surgery, I wonder just how beneficial it will be to me.
Pray for me and I hope I am making the right decision.
Any encouragement you can offer will be appreciated.
: : : : : I just had a pleurodesis done on my left lung. My lung kept collapsing due to "blebs" and this is how they fixed it. I am recovering from the surgery now which is very painful and was wondering if anyone else ever had this surgery and how successful it has been.
: : : : : Any info. would be appreciated.
: : : : : Thanks.
: : : I had surgery done five weeks ago to correct the "blebs" on my right lung. I am still in a lot of pain and no end in sight though I was told I would recover completely. How much longer will this take. The surgeon initially led me to believe it would be a snap, but the pain is incredible. If anyone has recovered from this type of surgery, please let me know when I can expect some relief!

: : : : I had this same surgery on the same lung on March 27 and I too am having a lot of pain and weird symptoms. Was wondering if anyone knows how long it takes to recover fully from this?
: : I just had this Surgery last week coming from 3 spontaneous pneumothorax's in the left lung. Pain is acute in chest and back. And wheezing is starting all over again. debatable if I should enter hospital again.
: Just had a VATS Pleurodesis done on my right lung. I'm going into my third week of post-op. Doing better each day, but it's slower going then I thought. I get weird chest pains and back pains, sometimes I get a tightness in my chest, sometimes it feels like I'm having a hard time breathing again, but it only is a temporary sensation. I'm still taking tylenol and using my incentive spirometer. Would love to hear from others to hear what there symptoms are. I'm off of work for six weeks, how about you guys?
