: I recently had an echocardiogram and the results were basically normal, except the report states that I have increased pressure in my lungs. I have been unable to discuss this with my doctor and I am just wondering what that statement might mean. Should I be concerned?, and what are the possible implications of increased pressure in the lungs. Any response would be appreciated.
:You need to discuss this with your doctor immediately. Elevated pressures in the lungs could be a symptom of pulmonary hypertension. This is apotentially life threatening disease I was diagnosed 2yrs. ago and was just placed on the national transplant list. I am awaiting a double lung transplant. This may not be your problem but you need answers now. Pulmonary hypertension can progress quickly in some individuals. Please check into this.
: Thank You,
: Barbara
