Because I have no ins. I've been going to a free clinic for 5 years! I see a different doc nearly everytime I go, and have heard everything from I eat too much salt, to basically I'm nuts. I waited two months to see a Rhumatologist, supposedely one of the best in my area, to explain these symtoms to him: I have had severe leg pain, which has gotten gradually worse for at least 5 years, starting with burning, aching, and throbbing. Now I have soft, swollen places (veins?) on both ankles which are extremely tender. My entire body aches, especially my hands, upper arms, thighs and shoulders. I have had several chest x-rays over the past several years for shortness of breath, but seem to show nothing, and have had "hives" many times. I am now starting to get worried, because I have tender lumps under my skin, in many different places, and don't know what to think of them! Anyway, my last doc's appt, he basically accused me of wanting pain relief drugs and told me my leg muscles were "tight" and needed loosened up. (Accusations of laziness?) I have 3 teenagers and a demanding husband, and work. I hardly think so! Sorry to complain, but I'm at my wits end. Any of this sound familiar? I seem to be getting worse all the time, and am really getting scared. My husband says "what's next, a wheelchair? I guess without VISIBLE signs, he thinks I'm crazy too. Really I'm not!!! Please help! Any good doc advice? I'll go anywhere! I tried to find Patch Adams' place, but he's probably swamped these days. Any info on other low, or free treatment?
