Hi anne , I had both sides of my torso break out in a painful rash before I had a diagnosis of SLE . The dr gave me a cortisone cream which cleared it up in about five days . I would make an appointment with the derm to be sure of what the rash is . If it is just a dermatosis like I had the topical steroids help so much .
