My daughter at two years old had a rash all over her arms, legs, feet, hands, and lower to mid-torso. We had a small biopsy done on her left hand. The pathology diagnosis came back SLE. Does anyone know a great pediatric SLE specialist in LA? The rash went away after to six to eight weeks, but the problems never did. I experienced similar pain in places on my body, but with no rash. I even had myself evaluated psychologically -- so I knew I wasn't transferring my anxiety over her to myself. She is now five and I and her have pains near our kidneys, sinus problems all the time, sensitivity to the sun, aches and pains at various points on our body, tiredness, etc. Her ANA test came back indeterminate at two. I am convinced that an infectious agent, a virus probably, is responsible for SLE. A herpes virus of some sort probably, becuase it has to be a virus that keeps being able to flare up and not be totally eliminted by the body because of its ability to go through latency periods (undetected periods by the body). (Fifty types of herpes vruses affect the animal kingdom, eight of those fifty affect humanity. Our knowledge is so limited in understanding everything out there.)
