: : I`ve just found the Lupus network and I`m new to computers. I`ve had Lupus for 30 years and have had everything from skin involvment to major organ ( heart and kidneys ) problems foe the last ten years. My kidneys were positively diagnosrd by a nephroligist doing a kidney biopsy and lupus cells were found in the kidney. The treatment for that is chemotherapy with cytoxin over a two year span and can only be done one time. The chemo put my joint problems into remission and my kidneys are functioning at 30%.
: My daughter is now 13 she was diagnosed with Lupus at age 6. In December 99 she had what I thought was the flu, she became very ill and her Lupus caused complications, she ende up having heart surgery for pericarditis, I'm not sure but I think that maybe her kindneys are being affected by the prednezone that she has to take. She has a rash on her stomach, one of the people I work with said that is a sign of kidney problems. did you have any rashes and did you try any alternative medications before you had chemo?
