: Hello Iím new to this list. I am 30 years old and female. I have had lupus for 13 years. I was hopping I could connect with a few of you that may have severe anemia or other problems that you were given Cytoxen. Iím still waiting for some test results to come back but one of the options my doctor is considering is putting me on cytoxen. Iím curious as to what side affects you experienced. I was told that one, my hair my fall out and two, I may not be able to have kids! Have any of you been on this drug? Iím a bit freaked out by all of this so any and all advice is welcome.
Hi, I am 27 and was diagnosed with Lupus when I was 21. I have SLE and it attacked my kidney(I was born with only one).I was on Cytoxin for about 1 1/2 years. It was once a month for about the first year then every other month. No my hair did not fall out but it did thin tremendously. I didn't have any bald spots but it was very fine. It was a day long event where I went to the hospital for I think 8 hours but I don't remember. Then you have to take anti nausea medicine because it will make you very sick!!! I didn't have to shave the entire time I was on it. That was a little plus. You get kind of tired but other than that it's not that bad because your on a low dose. Well at least I was. As for the kids, my Rheume. had me on birth control pills with hopes to avoid any problems. I don't know if it worked or not. I just had a kidney transplant June 3 of last year. You have to wait 1-2 years before your try and get pregnant. I am now trying to lose the weight I put on the first 3 months after the transplant.
