: I've had Lyme disease for four years and tested positive for three years. I am currently symptomatic however, my blood work is negative for Lyme disease. Is that possible????? Aren't you always positive once you have tested positive?
You are not always positive. You can treat and no longer have the virus. You can test negative and have the virus active in your body. Spinal fluid is the most accurate way to test. You can have life long probles if the virus is not treated in a timely maner. I have had Lymes almost 11 years and have what is refered to as reacurring. It is like a cancer that lies dormant and comes back to attack a new organ every few years. I had it almost a year before it was treated. Lots of people develop fatige and arthritus.... I CAN'T SPELL.... good luck
