Slightly over a year ago, I was bitten by some kind of insect. I am reasonably sure it was not a tick, but the resulting welt evolved into a rash which closely resembled the "Erythema Migrans". The ring was approximately and inch and a half in diameter and healed into a half moon shape over a couple of weeks. The remainder was present for six or seven months. I've researched the symptoms of Lyme Disease and don't seem to have any noticable similarities. I've learned that fleas and biting flies can also carry the bacteria which is of particular concern because I was bitten in an area infested by them. This leaves the following questions. Are there other insect born infections which cause a similar rash? If not, could it be too late for effective treatment after a 14 month delay? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
