Lyme is caused by the Borrelia burgdorferi (Bb) spirochete--a type of bacteria. I suggest getting the book "Everything You Need To Know About Lyme Disease" by Karen Vanderhoof-Forschner. It has a wealth of information. You can order it at amazon.com Do whatever you can to educate people about this serious and horrendous disease.
