: My almost 15 yr old daughter has been seen by several doctors in the last yr for an illness that they cannot
: diagnosis for. She has had evey test for auto-immune disorders to MRI's, EEG's and a Spinal tap that resulted
: in nothing abnormal.
: I know that she has Lyme Disease but the test tell otherwise, they want me to try her on Zoloft and Neurotin
: even though she is not depressed or has never had a seizure. The last doctor says to treat the brain then deal
: with her pain later.
: I may take her to a Doctor in Branson Missouri that treats Lyme or even the Mayo Clinic to find the right doctor
: who will treat her.
: She was treated for Lyme about 8 yrs ago but had the disease a yr and half before being tested for Lyme. And
: Then not treated long enough. (i know that know)
: Her regular doctor tells me there is nothing more medical she can do for her.
: We are at our wits about what to do. I need and she needs help with this. Are there any new test for Lyme that
: could shed some light on us.
: Also we cannot find anything on late stages that brighten our days.
: I'm sorry for getting carried away but we need help and can't find it close to home.
: Thank you for any help that anyone can provide.
: Thank You,
Becky, I have a similar story with my 18 yr. old daughter. Her pediatrician is now treating her for lyme because everything else has come back negative and she has the symptoms of lyme. Also, responded to rocephin when treated for a sinus infection, symptoms came back after finished treatment so she is now being treated for "presumptive lyme disease." If you want, email me if you live close to Al. I have the name of a dr. who has treated 300 Lyme cases there. Good luck. I know how lonely our journey has felt at times and we are just hoping for some improvement now.
