Posted by Alice on July 19, 2000 at 12:01:44:Though I don't have lyme disease, I have a serious illness which has caused me a great deal of discomfort throughout my body. I have numbness in my arms, knees and feet. This has caused some paralysis and the doctors don't know an effective treatment for this problem.
My favorite activity is reading and learning Biblical scripture. When I realize that Jesus Christ is my Lord and that he has prepared a home in heaven for me just because I've trusted Him, I live in amazement and total wonder.
Some scriptures that are meaningful to me are the following:"It is good for me that I have been afflicted; that I might learn your laws."
(Psalms 119:71)"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." (John 3:16)
"Trust in the LORD with all your heart; and lean not unto your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct your paths." (Proverbs 3:5-6)"For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, works for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory." (2 Corinthians 4:17)
"Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved--you and your household." (Acts 16:31)
