I'm a 29 year old male, generally in good health, who has recently developed some troubling health concerns. About a month ago, I developed a rash on my left thigh. It was a deep red, and about 2 inches in diameter, with a dark spot in the center. Over the next few days, this rash expanded until it took over the entire top surface of my thigh, with a diameter of maybe 6 1/2 inches or so. A few days after it had peaked in size, I noticed another, second rash on my right thigh. This rash quickly grew in size, and became quite sore, with a prickly, almost burning sensation, made worse by friction from clothes, etc. This rash also enlarged, but only the outer edge stayed ( light ) red, the inner part remained flesh colored. It's now two weeks later, and to make a long story short, I am covered with similar light-centered rashes on my back and side. Most are circular, of varying diameter, but all are clear-centered. SOme itch, but most have no feeling. The second rash to develop, on my right thigh, is still there, but very light, and still very tender. Over the past three days, I have also developed a pain in my jaw when I open it wide, at first only on the left side, but today, speadin a bt to the right. Also today I noticed a pronounced fatigue, the first since this whole thing has started. I wonder if anyone has had similar symptoms with Lyme. From what I'm reading, it sounds like a distinct possibility. I am in Rhode Island, and an avid hiker / canoeist, so I am outdoors a lot. My primary care physician looked at the original rash, before the "bullseye" type rashes really took off, and pronounced it heat rash. I'm hoping to find a good Lyme doctor here in Rhode Island so that I may confirm my suspicion, or at least rule Lyme out as a possible cause for my current symptoms. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
