: Ruth, my hubby has an aunt who has Charcot-Marie-Tooth Disease. Lovey
Ruth- My mother, aunt, and I all have Charcot-Marie -Tooth Disease. I also have chronic lymes-my first bullseye was strange phenomena 20yrs ago! I have found that I am not alone in believing that there is a connection between these two diseases. I will tell you that MDA neurologists who originally did not believe in Lymes Disease changed their tune a little when an IV antibiotic administered by a "rogue genius neurologist in Texas" not only got me from being bedridden or wheelbound but to walking without a cane!! I have had 3 rounds of IV antibiotics 3wks, 3months, and almost 5 months and each time...my worst C-M-T symptoms improve radically.
Personally, I know it won't change genetics but the symptoms are so similar. I have a favorite earthshaking theory that my little beasty spirochetes are wrapping themselves up as segments of my DNA...but if C-M-T doesn't run in your family I hope you pursue antibiotic tx aggressiveley and with longstanding dedication!! Love to have another e-pal. Write if you want. I can't work as an RN or counselor anymore...it wouldn't be nice to subject patients to my fog brain, stumbling, etc. cycles...but I might be of some limited use to you in learning how to live another 20 years or so. firstname.lastname@example.org
