: Has anyone with burning mouth syndrome ever had a sensation of sand in the cheek of the mouth as a symptom?
: Would be greatly appreciated!

If you suffer from burning mouth syndrome, and still have it, you may will find useful some of the tips I will give you. It usually happens to post-menopausal women but I am 31 and I don't have manopause yet. I have read that it can come sometimes 3 years before menopause sets. Besides all of the possible causes of it, b vitamin deficiency, thrush, food allergies, etc... I read something that is very enlightening. A doctor has found out the reason why people get this disorder. It has to do with the nerve that runs from the tip of you tongue. It is believed that due to a viral infection, damage to the nerve happens, affecting your sense of taste and that people with this condition, do not taste bitter very well. That in fact, was one of the things that helped this doctor figure it out. Try going into this website... www.newhavenadvocate.com/articles/tongue1.html
One remedy that they say works wonders is called Clonazepam... good luck and if you want to e mail me, do so at... Monica_aimee @ hotmail.com
(the reason why I separated the @ and the rest of the address is so I won't get bogus e mails from people that scan the net for addresses but it goes together as a normal address ... example...
Myname_is@hotmail.com
Good luck
