I stopped my periods at age 49; waited 3 years to take hormones cause I still had flashes. I don't think the prescribed hormones would cause you to stop menstrating. Were you off schedule the last 6-12 months? Sounds like menopause to me. The Prempro I take now gives me very sore breasts [and I take Vitamin E]. I hope you are okay.
