You are so considerate to ask...I know you feel you are walking on eggshells...you ARE!
Just show her compassion as she cannot help how she feels, and if she is like me, felt like she is going crazy...but that is OUR expression. We are not crazy, just undergoing a severe physical change. It feels awful! When she is testy, let her have her space, when blue or moody express empathy. Tho you don't know how it feels, just tell her you can see she feels so bad, and you love her. Bring her flowers and act like you are courting her, and express how beautiful she is to you, often.
Be sure to tell her when she is feeling OK, that you are ahving a hard time with the adjustment too, but that you don't blame her.
By all means don't try to hide your feelings or stuff them.
They will pop out inappropriately. Now, something for her, is to read up on thyroid and visit the thyroid board, esp. the new onw where some info is available. Menopausal women often have insufficient thyroid as it works over time to balance the body chemicals/hormones.
The TSH is insufficient to determine if we have enough thyroid, so many doctors prescribe female hormones and miss this important factor.Taking plenty of B complex vitamins support the nerves and most of us are deficient in them, anyway.
God bless you for caring enough to ASK!!!
May we all be so blessed with husbands like you!
