My doctor just scheduled me for a Transrectal Ultrasound to look at my prostate in two weeks. Can anyone tell me what to expect from this experience. What little I've found on the net about it makes me nervous. The thought of lying there with a probe in my rectum conjures up images of me getting an embarrassing erection in front of the doctor and whomever else is present during the procedure. Plus, I was given no instructions to self administer an enema or anything either... is that required?
Anyone's input would be appreciated to help alleviate my fears.
