Has anyone had an operation called a varicocelectomy?
Its basically for swollen veins in the scrotum where the valves are not draining the blood away properly, causing a swelling. I can't decide whether to have the micro-surgical procedure (which is very expensive-about US$10000) and isn't widely available, or to have the conventional procedure which is free on the NHS (in the UK), but with a higher risk of complications (eg hydrocele). Can anyone tell me if they had the conventional op without any probs?
