: About a month and a half ago I started having a problem with my knee. Sometimes i would be walkin normally and randomly i would get a really sharp pain and my knee would "go out" for a few minutes, in the same manner a back would "go out". This kept happening every few minutes that I would walk around. After about 3 weeks it stopped, so I started playing sports again. Then whenever I would play something like basketball or football, after going home and resting for about 20 minutes my knee would feel rock hard, sore, and swollen, and i couldn't get my leg completely straight and can barely bend it back. This new thing with my knee has been going on for the last 3 weeks. I can't afford to go to a doctor, I have no idea what this is, and if its serious or not, so I was wondering if anyone could help.

Hi it sounds like you could be redamageing it before it had a chance to completly heal. Or you have not enough fluid to coushion the shock that you are giving it. (not drinking enough water) A friend played a lot of sports and kept hurting one of his knees to the point that he did permanent damage that could not be repaired without a knee replacement(he was only in his early 30ys). I would lay of the sports etc. You are playing with fire, you shure don't want to have a bad knee the rest of your life if you could avoid it.
