: Anthea,

: B.D.D. is a type of OCD, correct? I have had OCD for a long time, but with the newer medications (Zoloft works very well for me) I feel great. Please feel free to E-mail me. Mike

Mike:

BDD is an extreme preoccupation with one or more aspects of one's appearance. In many ways it is an obsession. We all have some concerns about our looks, but for people with BDD the concern goes beyond what is normal. It occupies my thoughts constantly and has caused me to isolate myself because I fear others looking at me and thinking I am hideous. I tried Zoloft in the past and it did not sit well with me. I also tried Luvox. Did you try any Cognitive behavioural therapy at all?

Thanks for responding.
A.
