I have been involved with a 45 yr old man for two years now and am almost at my wits end. No matter how sensitive I try to be with him, nothing seems to work. He hoards paper products, ei: newspapers, used paper towels, old paperwork(over 20 yrs old, scrap paper, mail etc. He cannot throw away a single thing. He constantly searches our garbage for anything he may "need". Waking up and getting ready for work is a nightmare for him. He speeds around the house doing unnecessary tasks and is constantly late for work. He talks very fast and mumbles frequently. If he steps on the dog, knocks over one of the kids, he finds a way to make it their fault and shows absolutely no empathy on his part. This is only the tip of the iceberg. I'm finding it increasingly more difficult to deal with him and have actually caught myself repeating some of his tasks. Looking for confirmation that this is in fact OCD and insight into ways to deal with a partner affected by same.
