I always do it while I'm driving down the road. If something interesting happens at work, or if I think of something that may be interesting to someone else later on, I'll tell myself a story... It sounds kind of sad, but I also make up a lot of stuff too, like I'll make up an interesting story about something that never happened or my childhood or about my friends. It's not something harmful, but I'll make up stories that seem normal, but are interesting, like sneaking out of a friend's house as a kid or something, it's never something outrageous. I'm basically creating false memories for myself. But sometimes, when I'm not aware that I'm doing it or if it seems as if I'm just remembering something that happened (whether it happened), I'll continue talking to myself when I get out of the car... I usually catch myself before anyone sees me, though... I've done this all my life,t hough.
