Hey Folks, I just discovered this message board. My wife has been diagnosed bipolar, and is on medication and counseling. I have a lot to learn about her condition but I have seen manic behavior for many years. My job is , I suppose, to stand by her. To be her source of strenghth, a shoulder to cry on? I know I'm extremely fortunate to not have this affliction myself, but my tolerance is wearing thin. She goes on drinking or charge account beinges. I'm just now learning what the problem is. I want to be their for her but is their a cure? When will this nightmarish hell end? When is too much too much???? If you're familiar with this illness you know ,tho I've been supportive, it is extremely unfair to those of us who love her. On her medication she is a different person than the girl I always loved. Without medication she is a danger to herself and others. At times I swear she hates her own grandbabies? Am I facing this alone?
