Mental Blocks

At 16 I was sexually abused and did not seek professional help because of not wanting my parents to know. From the trauma I blocked out the whole incident for 2 years until I saw the person again who wanted to apologize and seek my forgiveness. I did forgive him and thought I could regain a normal life. Then 15 years later I had forgotten the incident and ran across the guy and still didn't remember him. He said I probably blocked it out again. How do I deal with these mental blocks? It recently popped up in my dreams at night that's why I'm writting to you now.
