Hey Nater
have we talked before? Yes you do sound liek you need somebody to talk to. Do you have a counsellor or therapist right now? You say you don't get along with your parents, has this always been like that?

Sorry I am asking so may questions... you say you need advice on suicide. Do you feel suicidal? Please if you ever feel suicidal call somebody immediately! Call emergency (911 in the US) in an acute suicidal mood, because during such a crisis it is most important that you are safe from yourself.
There are also suicide prevention lines. Again if you are in the US you can call 1-800-SUICIDE, I think there is also a number 1-800-999-9999. there are also local ones that you can find in the phone book.
I also want to again recommend that website http://www.metanoia.org/suicide/ that says people should at least take the time to read this before they want to harm themselves. It gives a lot of helpful advice. Like, it is not your life you really want to end, but just the pain... and the pain can be ended without taking your life!

Also whenever you are in such a crisis tell yourself to wait at least a week and then re-evaluate the situation. That will give you some distance and prevent acting on impulse.
See depression really can mess up your thinking, i mean distort it, and everything looks negative and hopeless, like there is no meaning to life etc... btu there IS. It is just the depression that gives you those thoughts, and they will go away.

In any case have numbers to call ready, you know, for the case that you get into a crisis or suddenly feel suicidal, so you won't have to look long for a nuymber to call. Writing down numbers of people you trust, counsellors, etc, is also a good idea. In any case TALK about those feelings.

As for the self mutilation... do you cut yourself? I have talked to some people who do that. Does it help you relief some inner pain?
Some people say it helps to rub ice on your skin instead, because it also hurts but is not so harmful. Or even use red marker, because it will look like a cut.
One person said she tries at least five things to get her mind off the cutting every time the urge overcomes her.

Please post again and let us know how you are doing ok?

Kathrin
p.s. ALWAYS remember depression will NOT last for ever.
