: Gail,
: Ambien is a sedative and hypnotic, AKA sleeping pill. Short term use only. While Trazodone and Remeron are for depression, but help with sleep. I was on Trazodone for a couple of years with the effects gradually wearing off. Replaced it with Remeron with great benefits. Please remember that with Remeron the less you take 15-30mg at night with cause more sleepiness than larger amounts (45mg) used for depression. So the more you want to sleep the less you take.

: HTH,
: Deb
