I am a living example of a person who has benefited greatly from having my dental mercury-silver amalgams removed. I understand that the symptoms of MS are similar to amalgam sufferers in some ways; that is the reason that I thought that I would check this healthboard section out.

About 22 years ago, my doctor told me that I was getting too old, I was too fat, that I should not run more than 100 yards, and that I should take 10 aspirins a day. That was the first bit of advice a doctor told me on my progressively worsening arthritic pains. I was only 27 (almost 28) years old and I had a hard time of doing any vigorous exercise. People made fun of me when I went bowling, because I couldn't bend down. I couldn't tell them that I was in pain, because I didn't know what it was. I used to love to run, but that was not possible any more.

To make a long story short, after having removed my eight (8) amalgams about six years ago, I now run close to 19 miles a week. I feel better all the time. This month I turn 50 years old, and I look like a person that is 20 years younger. I fought this problem for decades. Some other symptoms (other than the arthritic pain) that I had were severe urinary problems, lower back pain, headaches, loose teeth, gum disease, and chest pains.

When my lower molar broke about six years ago, and exposed one of my amalgams, I had tingling of the end of my hands the very next day. I also had horrible back pains near my right shoulder blade. Then none of my healthly habits worked; I feared the worse. I didn't know, at first, what to do. I asked one of the staff at a local hospital, but they suggested a research center. Since I already had reason to suspect my dental amalgams as the problem, after much reading of the subject previously in a health food store, I just decided to have the dental amalgams removed. I didn't want to talk to anyone anymore. Boy, was I glad that that was done. I had more of these strange symptoms during the amalgam removal process in the dental office, which further convinced me of the link of my pains and these ugly gray things in my teeth.

What I found out, although, was that just because you have the dental amalgams removed, don't expect miraculous results right away. Only the source of the mercury has been removed. The poisonous mercury that filled your body is still there. I tried anti-mercury components (garlic extract, vitamin E, and selenium taken together) for three weeks right afterwards, but that made me so sick that I missed a week of work. I don't recommend that experimentation for anyone because I felt like I was very close to death. (That's another story of what not to do.) Since then, I have just decided to stay on my herbal teas, special wholesome diet, and exercise program to remove the mercury naturally and slowly over the years. As I get older I feel better (not the other way around). It is a strange feeling, to feel so healthy after years of cripping arthritis, and all sorts of pain. I want to tell everyone.

What's so frustrating to me is that the medical community in the United States, in general, does not recognize this as a problem, nor do they understand it. Thus, it was up to me to experiment. I tried this, and that, this food, this water, pure this, pure that etc., until by the grace of God, I found the link to all my problems. It was "all in my head". I wish more people would consider this something to study, for the affects could be quite positive for so many people out there that are crying out for relief.
