: : I'm new to the board, have been reading some of thepost here. I'm 49 yrs.old female. Was diagn. 1 year ago with fibromyalgia( have been in pain for 4 yrs. Seen & least 8 drs. & tried lots of meds.)I'm only getting worse! Now I'm having numbness in my face, arms, hands&mouth. So much pain in my feet I have a hard time walking! It never ends! No test have been done (such as MRI,SPINAL TAP, muscle biopsy)I'm being treated by a rheumatologist @ presant. Does this sound like MS? What should I do next? My only brother died 12 years ago with ALS. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!! Feel free to email me- email@example.com Thanks so much!
: Fibromyalgia and MS have alot of symptoms in common and are difficult to distinguish. You need to make an appointment with a neurologist for testing. There's no cure for either but if for no other reason the dx will give you some end to the doubt. I hope you find the answers you are looking for. I know the worry is frustrating. I wish you good health. Sandy
Thanks Sandy! For responding so soon!I spoke to my rheumatologist by phone today and was told to go by to my family dr. for a referal to a neurologist- Can you believe that!! Think it's an HMO thing. It's bad to pay these high ins. premiums and still have to beg to see a dr. I'm so frustrated I could just screem!!!
