: Does anyone out there have more than one person in the family afflicted with MS? Please help! My daughter is 35 and has had MS since she was 16. She unfortunately, is in a very bad way. Now, my 28 year old son has been diagnosed with MS also.............running scared............
Around 1989 I ran into a cousin in the mall. We sat and talked for awhile. She told me she had been diagnosed with MS. I was devastated. For one thing, at that time I didn't really know what MS was. Then in 1992, I was diagnosed with MS. I learned that I have a cousin in Calfornia (male) with the disease also, and another cousin (female) here in NY with MS. In addition, years ago, my sister's face went numb (one side) and the doctor suggested she get an MRI to see if it was MS. She wouldn't get one because she didn't want to know she had it. That was years ago and she's fine now. So I do believe it is Familial.
