Hi Lori - Yes, Baclofen is prescribed as a muscle relaxer no matter what the ailment. Many neurologists prefer Zanaflex but you just have to decide what works best for you.. I have taken both. Baclofen makes me too sleepy and weak. Zanaflex at first gave me headaches, dry mouth, and fatigue. Those side effects have gone now. But I have muscle weakness due to the MS and a muscle relaxer adds to that so I don't take them unless the pain is severe from muscle spasms and cramping. If I don't overwork a muscle I can avoid the muscle probs usually. In other words, knowing how to pace myself, getting lots of rest, etc. Is the baclofen working for you? Have you been evaluated by a neurologist? What tests have you been given? I know the not knowing can sure be stressful. I hope you can get the right dx soon. Email me if you want to and I would be happy to chat with you. skdll@webtv.net
