Is excessively HIGH Cholesterol related to MS???

I am not overweight, have low B/P, eat a low-fat diet, but have Cholesterol of approx. 300....Doctors don't understand?....Because of other health problems---I am being tested for MS.....Does anyone know of a 'link' between high cholesterol and MS?....Thanks!!
