: Hi I am 29, in my 6th month of my first pregnancy and am now very scared. This past friday night I was in a lot of pain, I went to sleep and woke at about midnight. At that time I felt a bit of tingleing, thought I had slept wrong, I went back to sleep and woke up again at 3 and my whole right side was bad. My ms has never affected my right side, I have lost all feeling in my left side for months along with other complications. Anyway I was so scared that I ended up going to the hospital, they made sure the baby was fine and then did some tests on me. Apparently I am having an attack, I have to see my regular Dr. tomorrow and then one of my neurologists, the hospital thinks that they are going to put me back on steroids, I dont want this, I dont want the pain that I am in and I dont want to be going through this right now. I went and seen both of my neurolagists when I got pregnant and both said that pregnancy usually helps with ms and they both thought I would stay healthy through this. Now I am not, I am scared, I feel totally useless and I am in an incredible amount of pain. I have wanted this pregnancy for years and now I am getting from peoplethat maybe this is just showing me that I will not be able to handle a baby. This is not fair, I am wonderful with children and this is important to me. Anyway I am scared, because my symptoms seem to be spreading and I dont know what to do. Has anybody else taken steroids while they were pregnant, did it harm your baby? They said that if I dont take them I will probably stay like this until after I have the baby and they can treat it.

Hi Tanya I just wanted to share my similiar experience w/ you. I was pregnant and had an exacerbation and refused to go on the steroids such as yourself and hind sight 20/20 I didn't until I got so bad that I had to use a wheel chair. So then I gave the ok and went on the steroids and everything went wonderful w/ the birth of my now happy healthy 11 month old !!!! So I understand where you're coming from but most doctors have the insight. And I really wish I had when it was recommended in the first place! But all is well and done and we have a HEALTHY little almost 1 yr. old !!! So I guess I could say trust a little?and have faith!! Good Luck DJ
