: Please someone tell me if this is typical of ALS or MS????

: I 've had muscle twitches sporadically in the past but now I have had twitches every day all day for about a month. They don’t stay in one particular muscle but flit about every single muscle in my body including vaginal area and facial area. I didn’t know I had so many muscles..(ha—ha!!) I am sorry to have gotten too graphic but it’s scary because I am only 19 years old. I am worried I have ALS. I am not insured so I have turned to you all for advice. I have other symptoms such as tingling and numbness, really bad blurred vision in both eyes, stiffness in right hand, extremely cold all the time..and a new found deal with my voice where it trembles when I speak and I can’t sing as high as I used too..in fact I can’t at all hardly. I have shortness of breath associated with the trembling voice and choking sensations a lot. I feel I am going crazy and am afraid to tell family for fear that they won’t believe this. It just keeps going on but especially the twitches. I can’t get them to stop. It’s driving me crazy. Please e-mail my address at kendrea_lee@YAHOO.COM if you have any suggestions. I am really worried.

Kendrea, From what I've read, ALS doesn't effect the eyes. With the other symptoms that you described, it sounds more like a neuropathy to me. I know how you feel. I have been having some of the same things for two years. Especially the twitches. I've read that they can just be benign(no disorder related to them) and the aren't painful, but they can be nerve wrecking(sorry for the pun) I am in the process of being evaluated again. Had blood test Friday, MRI last Sunday and this Friday my neuro is doing another NCS and EMG. Hopoe they come up with something soon. But Don't worry about ALS. Doesn't sound like that to me. Judy
