optic neuritis / MS ????

Hi - I hope someone might be able to shed a little light on this subject... Over the past three years I have had four severe attacks of optic neuritis - I've had MRI's, spinal tap (aaaargh!), and spinal results were negative, and MRI showed no lesions. I was treated with Solumedrol therapy (double arrgh!) each time and sent home to feel like crap for a month. I was told that optic neuritis is a sign of MS, and that there is a good chance I will develop it. I am not satisfied in the least with this wishy-washy diagnosis and wondered if anyone may have any thoughts or insight. I don't think I have any other symptoms except a lot of fatigue and sometimes visual distortion. I went to one of the best hosp's in the country, but I am still a bit nervous about this. Any comments would be appreciated.....
