I wrote to this board once before - I just finished a course of Solumedrol therapy and a steroid taper for optic neuritis. It has been two weeks, and although my vision initially returned, now it is worse than ever - fading in and out with lots of floaters and flashes of light. I have had two clear contrast MRI's and a negative spinal tap. I know my neuro gave me a lower dose of Solumedrol this time because I didn't tolerate it well, but it apparently didn't work. Is there another treatment for this?? Will it keep coming back? And, does anyone think that I should still be worried about MS, or does it seem unlikely? I'm at a loss - I have missed so much work and been in the hospital so much - and it seems to be doing no good. I'm starting to feel like I'm going nuts, because the doctors cannot figure out what is causing this! any feedback would be sincerely appreciated - thanks!
