I am the mother of two wonderful children ages 5 and 9. I was not diagnosed with ms until after the birth of my first born. When deciding whether or not I was going to have a second child I researched fairly thoroughly concerning whether or not ms would be hereditary. It was at this time that not much medical literature or evidence was saying yes to the possibility. We went ahead and had a second child and it has been since her birth that more and more information seems to be coming out regarding more of a possibility that ms may in fact be of a hereditary concern, yet the percentage still seems to be on the low side. I am not comfortable with the idea that I may be passing on to my children something like ms that may so negatively affect their lives, but I love them with all of my heart and would not want to be without them in my life. Hopefully between the low percentage (and a high percentage of so much being unknown regarding ms) and the search for cure and or better assitance for people with this disease, we all may live with ms more comfortably and or without it altogether some day.
Good Health and luck with your pregnancy. Try to rejoice in the bringing into this world a new life that you are nourishing and going to be nurturing. My pregnancies, ms and health did not seem to negatively affect each other although the whole experience is tiring.
Take care.
