my father was diagnosed with hoffman syndrome in 1997 after having his thyriod removed he started to get severe muscle discomfort after alot of test from various specialists he was diagnosed with hoffman syndrome doctors originally thought that he was not taking the right amount of thyroxine and if he was to take the right amount he should improve ....however after months of being at the correct level no progression ...he has been given very little info on his condition a neurologist diagnosed him after a muscle biopsy which showed he had antegens on his muscles.....however this is apparantly an endrocrinologists field....however when he saw the endrocrinologists registrar he said that if it was hoffmans and he was taking the right amount of thyroxine he should improve .....this is all of the help he has had.......obviously it is very frustrating for both him and us and all we can do is hope for responses from anyone who knows about hoffmans who has hoffmans or who has also had a thyroidectemy and is having similiar symptoms
