: : Hi. I'm sorry to hear the problems that you have had since I also have LGMD. I was diagnosed with this when I was 12 years old. I am now 19 years old and am attending college full time. I have been somewhat chubby since I was a sophomore in college. I currently weigh about 140 pounds. I have had some success in losing 2o pounds since I joined Weight Watchers 6 months ago. I have met many new friends and have recieved much support. I also recieve physical therapy at my local hospital 3 times a week. This has somewhat slowed the contracting of muscles in my legs. : : Well I wish you the best of luck and if i can be of help just let me know. : Ms. Baker : Although it's off the thread a bit, I wonder if you could tell me what that physical therapy is like. I have MD too, we think it's lgmd or beckerts(sp?) and I am relatively stable now. That is, I do not notice much deterioration but I would like to feel more fit and I wonder if physical therapy might help. Thanks. I would also like to know what the Physical therapy is like also....because I have LGMD too....and I have been doing some light weights and taking "CREATINE"...that was recommended from the doctor; but I was worndering what else there is out there.
