I have been diagnosed with long thorasic nerve paralysis. It appears to have occured after lifting weights that isolated my chest muscles. My shoulder blade sticks out slightly on my right side, however, I have never dislocated my shoulder. It does not appear that my symptoms are as bad as your husband's. I am seeing a neurologist soon - I have heard of experimental therapys at Duke Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina.
