My wife, 46yrs old, has lost feeling from about her knees down and its starting in her fingers. Her feet
burn at night and sometimes in the day where she has to soak them in cold water to releive the pain and
discomfort. She has been to Cleveland Clinic, U.K. Medical Center, Ohio University Medical Center as well
as local doctors in our area. She has had every test done, including the genetic testing, nerve biopsy at
OU that were non-conclusive, EMG's once and twice a year and every test for nerve damage done under
the sun.She is overweight and has osteoporosis, recent onset diabetes, which is well controlled with diet
and glucophage. She is currently on Neurontin,Paxil, pamelor, prilosec, corgard, oxycontin for pain control,
zanofles, HCTZ, Lortab prn. She is a RN that 20+ years ago had to mix drugs in the ICU by hand. That
was one thought. We live near Ashland Oil. For years she has had chronic back pain and has rested in
a chair for long periods of time, which is the angle Im thinking of as to the cause of her nerve damage.
(pressure on the nerves) If anyone can help us find an answer we would be much grateful. She has always
had atypical reactions, if anyone has that 0.001% of something happen, its her.
Thanks,
Chuck,RN please send mail to chowland@home.com
