Sort of stumbled onto your message while searching the web for links and information on Bornholm Disease. I am suffering from it at this very moment as I write this. Was diagnosed this morning by my GP - (I spent a long night last night thinking I was dying of a heart-attack !!!)
My GP suggested no cure, rather that I stay at home and relax, and take painkillers if necessary. Oddly enough my father and 2 of my sisters have contracted this disease over the years. Sorry I have no in-depth knowledge to share, just thought hearing that other people are sharing the experience may help your friend.
