Hi Tracy

I know how you feel !

I was diagnosed with Bornholms Disease last May (1999). I have had reoccurrences ever since, mainly characterised with constant pain around the lower ribs, with the skin feeling hot to the touch.

I visited my Doctor many times, and also a consultant at the hospital. After trying many anti-inflammatory (?) drugs (none of which gave any relief), my Doctor put me on a drug called Mobic (Meloxicam). This has certainly helped with the pain, although I do sometimes still get reoccurrences.

Mobic is apparently quite an expensive drug, so you may have a difficult job getting a prescription for it !

I hope that this can bring you some relief.

Let me know how you go.....

Regards

Emma

: Hi Yvonne & Pat

: I am 27 and have been having chest pains since March. After various tests, ultrasounds, x-rays, and numerous trips to the Doctors and hospitals, I have been diagnosed with Bornholm's Disease.

: I know very little about this disease, but have been told that it should disappear within 1 - 2 years! I am currently taking no medication.

: If anyone has any details on this disease or any advice on how to help to ease the pain, or if there is anthing I can do to speed up the recovery process, please let me know.

: I look forward to hearing how you got on at the Specialists Yvonne.

: best wishes.....
