: Recently I played basketball for an hour and a half on two occasions, one week apart. After the first session I started experiencing muscle pain in my lower neck and right forearm which I automatically attributed to this new and vigorous exercise. Normally my only exercise is from short daily walks.
: The pain has gone on now for three weeks. It is usually worse in the late afternoon and evening. The arm pain travels from my forearm to upper arm. I am taking a muscle relaxer for the pain and am on Tricor for cholesteral. The pain is pretty severe and three aspirin only give minor, temporary relief.
: I have had similar neck pain in the past without any sports or exercise and the pain has lasted for almost a month.
: Does anyone have any idea what could be the problem or what I could take to help?
Casey you may want to have a liver enzyme checked since being on cholestoral meds this is one of the first signs that you have elevated enzyme levels is muscle pain and it well spread very rapidly as the liver reaches toxic overload.
