: : : I get very severe cramps on the outter parts of my lower legs when I walk any distance. It feels like the tendons are being twisted and pulled. I have tried stretching exercises, several different pairs of shoes, arch supports and physical therapy. Nothing helps. The doctor says I am too young to have it caused by circulation problems. Any ideas? or suggestions? Thanks.

: : : : sounds like shes having severe muscle spasms that could come from any type of problem in the brain she needsto see a neuroligist and be evaluated there is treatment that does work for this condition she mighthave to try a couple of things to get to that point first i also have severe muscle spasms i did let it go until i had contratures and was just about screaming all the time from the pain also they do get worse without treatment mind got so bad i almost was unable to walk treatment is very inportant in this condition early it will preventmany problems also streaching and the exercise is not the cause it starts in the brain anso no exercise program will work if she wont see a neurologist at the very least get her to see a doctor that deals with the muscles or a physiophysicam wish you well this is a hard didease to get to understand

: : : I don't know if this will go on. But was reading this site. March of 98, I got out of bed in the morning. My leg from my ankles into my hip was spastic, could hardly move, but went to work that same day thinking it would work itself out. Long story short, 3 months of doctors, lost my ins., and job., was sent from one doctor to another, all kinds of medicines(about 15) which nothing helped. My son brought me to a massuse theripist and removed 5 knots out of muscles in my leg. I ran out of money with no income, so I had to stop going. To this day, I cannot stand, sit, or walk very much. I use a cane. The pains in the muscles are very real with anyone that it happens to.

well it seems im not alone, for the past couple of months ive been sufferein from severe leg cramps, i was told by the first doctor i saw, that it was either a blood clot or a trapped never. He wasnt too concerned abput it been a blood clot as the pain moved around. My recent visit to another doctor ended in him saying that at 23 i was too young to suffer from cramp and that only older people suffered with it. he put me on quine tablets, and basically told me if in a week there was no improvement he would just higher the dose. Now this is quite frightening as anyone that has experienced the pain will understand how much it affects your day to day activities. i now have to sit at work which doesnt help, as after i while i get severe cramp and pain, can anyone help me, please.
