: Has anyone gone through testing to get a disability rating ? What is done during this test? : I was injured in an auto accident and have herniaded disks in my neck and back and nerve damage : in my hip and leg . Just wondering if anyone has gone through this. Thanks, Vince I'm assuming this is for a workmans comp case?? If so a disability rating is used to determine the % of permanent disability. You will be examined by a QME Qualified Medical Evaluator and he/she will submit the findings to the State who will then rate your disability according to the bodypart/s and their impairment and also use your age to calculate the % of disability. This formula will give a dollar amount to the percentage of impairment found. . The test is just a regular examination you would normally receive for symptoms you are experiencing. Your Doc will probably run various test: MRI's Neurological examines ect. to determine how bad off your condition is and if there will be any permanent damage you will suffer for your remaining life. Hope this helps some. Good Luck! Sandy
